About DIYCutLab
Imagine it. Design it. Make it.
The problem we work on
Most people who want a custom box, organizer or sign do not know CAD and should not have to learn it. Static template downloads rarely match the exact size, thickness, text or material at hand, and a beautiful rendering is not a cutting file. DIYCutLab exists to deliver the outcome — correct, dimensioned, validated files — instead of another editor to master.
Principles
- Geometry is code, not pictures. Every path is produced by deterministic parametric generators with unit tests, golden fixtures and round-trip import checks.
- Capabilities by confidence. We list exactly what each product family can and cannot do, and hide workflows until their tests pass. Photo-to-DXF is not advertised until it is measured.
- Your measurements rule. Thickness, kerf and bed size come from you; we document sign conventions instead of guessing.
- AI assists, never authors. Gemini interprets requests and suggests edits; it never writes cutting paths, tolerances or prices.
- Pay per export. Free preview, no subscription, re-download what you bought.
What we are not
We are not a certification body. Files are geometrically validated, not machine-certified. Material suitability, machine settings, structural integrity and regulatory compliance of what you make remain your responsibility — we say so on every package.
Roadmap, honestly
- Calibrated flat-template digitization (marker sheet, perspective correction, measured cross-check) — in verification.
- DXF import for a documented entity subset — in testing.
- More product families: modular shelves, coasters, leather patterns with stitch allowance, more sign shapes.
- Saved machine profiles and kerf presets per material.
Try it with your own measurements
No account needed. Open a real parametric design, change the dimensions and watch every joint follow — then pay only if you want the files.
