Laser-cut signs
Design custom laser-cut signs with your own shape and lettering
A sign is an outline, lettering and a way to hang it. The studio makes all three editable and checks that the letters fit, the holes clear the edge and nothing is cut twice.
Ways to start
- Describe it: “mountain-shaped sign, 300 mm wide, engraved ‘Cabin’, two hanging holes” drafts an editable design with its assumptions listed.
- Draw it: pen tool for custom silhouettes, shapes for plaques, text with cap height in mm.
- Template: the layered name sign component with raised, engraved or stencil letters.
Lettering that cuts
Text becomes exact outlines from embedded fonts. Engraved text stays inside its part; cut-out (stencil) letters are checked for loose counters and minimum detail so the ‘O’ does not fall out unnoticed.
Hanging and mounting
Hole patterns (corners, top edge, around) are placed inside the material even on irregular outlines, with the margin you set.
What we do not promise
- Validation covers geometry (closed outlines, minimum detail, duplicate cut lines, fit on the sheet or page), not your machine: power, speed and blade settings stay with you — cut a test piece first.
- A photo has no scale: traced artwork gets the width you type; dimensionally exact digitization needs the calibration-sheet flow.
- CNC toolpaths and 3D printing are not generated; the 2D profile can be exported for your own CAM software.
Frequently asked
Which materials?
Plywood, MDF, acrylic and veg-tan leather for lasers; cardstock for layered signs on a cutting plotter. Vinyl is never sent to a laser.
Can I engrave a logo?
Trace the logo into outlines and put it on the engrave layer; raster photo engraving is marked as a placement area only.
What does it cost?
Designing is free; a laser package with SVG, DXF, PDFs and the assembly sheet is a one-time purchase per design version.
