DXF generator
Generate custom DXF files for laser cutting from your own design
Most free DXF downloads were drawn once, for one thickness and one machine. Here the DXF is generated from your design and your material each time, and checked by parsing it back.
What is in the DXF
- AC1015 ASCII DXF with $INSUNITS = 4 (millimetres).
- Closed LWPOLYLINEs with arcs stored as bulges, plus CIRCLEs; one layer per operation (CUT_OUTER, CUT_INNER, SCORE, ENGRAVE_VECTOR).
- A comment header with the design hash and generator version so a file can always be traced to its design revision.
Parametric parts inside your DXF
Drop a finger-joint box or an organizer into the canvas: its joints are generated from the measured thickness and optional kerf, nested onto the sheet and exported with your own outlines in the same file.
Kerf, measured not guessed
Kerf compensation is optional and uses the value you measure on a test cut: outer contours grow by half the kerf, holes shrink by half, following the machine-centreline convention documented in every package.
What we do not promise
- Validation covers geometry (closed outlines, minimum detail, duplicate cut lines, fit on the sheet or page), not your machine: power, speed and blade settings stay with you — cut a test piece first.
- A photo has no scale: traced artwork gets the width you type; dimensionally exact digitization needs the calibration-sheet flow.
- CNC toolpaths and 3D printing are not generated; the 2D profile can be exported for your own CAM software.
Frequently asked
Which laser software opens it?
LightBurn, xTool Creative Space, RDWorks, LaserGRBL and most CAM tools read AC1015 DXF with millimetre units.
Do I also get an SVG?
Laser packages contain SVG, DXF, a 1:1 PDF, a tiled PDF and an assembly sheet with the bill of parts.
Can I import my existing DXF?
Yes: lines, polylines, circles, arcs and splines (approximated) become editable outlines in the studio; unsupported entities are listed, never silently dropped.
Design a DXF
Laser-cut preset, DXF in every package. No account needed to design and preview.
