Finger-joint box

A sturdy rectangular box with finger-jointed corners, optional removable cap lid and engraved text.

Finger-joint box 200 × 150 × 100 mm — sheet 1 of 1BaseBack wallFront wallLeft wallRight wall600 mm400 mm

Default configuration, rendered by the engine (sheet 1).

What it does

  • Outside dimensions from 40 × 40 × 20 mm to 600 × 600 × 400 mm
  • Finger joints recomputed from your measured sheet thickness
  • Optional removable cap lid with an inner registration lip
  • Engraved text on the front panel, converted to real outlines
  • Open-top or capped; every part named and counted

What it does not do (yet)

  • Sliding and hinged lids are not available yet
  • Laser cutting only; CNC dog-bone relief is not generated
  • Fit depends on your measured thickness and kerf — always test-cut one corner

Supported parameters

Read directly from the generator's field definitions — these are the ranges the editor enforces.

Lid

Sliding and hinged lids are not offered yet: we only list lid styles whose geometry is generated and tested.

Finger width

Target width of each joint finger. The engine picks an odd finger count closest to this.

Joint fit clearance

Widens every notch by this amount. Leave 0 for a press fit when you have a measured kerf.

Questions

Are the dimensions inside or outside?

Width, depth and height are outside dimensions. The inside dimensions are shown in the editor's assumptions and in the assembly sheet (outside minus two wall thicknesses; height minus the base thickness).

How are the fingers calculated?

Each jointed edge is divided into an odd number of equal segments closest to your target finger width. Mating panels use complementary parities and notches are exactly as deep as your measured material thickness, so the pattern regenerates whenever you change size or thickness.

Which lid styles exist?

Open top or a removable cap lid: a flat top with a glued inner lip that registers inside the walls. Sliding and hinged lids are not offered until their geometry is generated and tested.

Can I engrave a name?

Yes, on the front panel. Text is converted to real outlines using licensed fonts and placed in the safe area away from the joints; if it does not fit it is scaled down and you are told.

Try it with your own measurements

No account needed. Open a real parametric design, change the dimensions and watch every joint follow — then pay only if you want the files.
