Correcting AI-generated geometry

Fix a draft that is almost right — adjust outlines, move text, repair holes and resolve check errors — without starting over.

AI drafts are starting points. Correct them with the same tools you use for anything else.

Typical fixes

  • Outline shape is off — select it, press N and drag nodes; double-click a segment to add detail.
  • Text overlaps the edge — select the text and lower Cap height, or move it with X (centre) / Y (centre).
  • Holes in the wrong place — select the hole pattern and change its arrangement, or move single holes. Holes must stay inside the material.
  • Wrong layer — select and change Properties → Layer; for example engraved text accidentally on Cut.
  • Wrong overall size — select everything (Ctrl+A) and group (Ctrl+G), then set the group's width.

Use the check

Open Check & output. Each problem names the affected object; click the part name to select it. Common results after an AI draft:

  • Not inside any closed cut outline — text or holes slipped outside the shape.
  • Open path on a cut layer — an outline did not close; use Repair paths or the Closed switch.
  • Overlapping parts — two cut shapes overlap; combine them with Union.

Or ask again

You can ask the assistant to fix its own draft: "move the holes 10 mm lower", "make the text smaller so it fits". Review the proposed changes before applying.
