Getting started

How to create your first project

A five-minute walk from an empty screen to a checked design with a price, using the real studio controls.

This guide builds a simple engraved tag so you see every stage once. You do not need an account.

1. Open the studio

Choose Start designing free on the home page or open a new design. Pick how you will make it — for example Laser cutting — and a canvas size, then choose Open blank canvas.

2. Add a shape

In the Create panel on the left, click Rounded under Quick add. A rounded rectangle appears in the middle of the canvas on the Cut layer, which means its outline will be cut through.

3. Add text

Click Text under Quick add. With the text selected, the Properties panel on the right shows the text, font and Cap height — the height of a capital letter in millimetres, which is what you can measure on the finished piece. Type your word and move it onto the tag by dragging, or by typing X (centre) and Y (centre).

Put the text on the Engrave layer with the Layer selector so it is engraved rather than cut out.

4. Check it

Open Check & output in the left rail. A green Geometry validated means the design can be made with the selected process and material. If something needs fixing, each item explains the problem and the fix, with a link to a guide.

5. Preview the files

Click Generate files in the top bar. The wizard walks through process, material, machine, layers, check and a preview of the exact geometry the files will contain. The last step shows the package contents and the price.

From here you can keep designing, save a named checkpoint, or sign in to keep the design on your account.
