Materials
- Any laser-safe sheet
Software and equipment
- Laser cutter software such as LightBurn or xTool Creative Space
This tutorial walks the whole export wizard once so nothing surprises you when you make your real project.
What you will learn
- What each wizard step is for.
- How layers become named groups and DXF layers.
- What a package contains before you pay.
After the tutorial
When you buy a package, import cut_files/sheet-01.svg into your laser software without scaling, map the layers and run a test cut. See how to prepare a laser cutting file.
Steps
The same steps appear in the studio, where each one is checked against your design.
- 1
Draw a tag
In Create, click Rounded under Quick add. It lands on the Cut layer.
- 2
Add engraved text
Click Text, type a word, and set its Layer to Engrave so it is marked, not cut out. Place it on the tag.
- 3
Make sure it validates
Open Check & output. Text that hangs over the edge is reported as outside the part; move it back onto the tag.
- 4
Open Generate files
Click Generate files. The Process step lists which files each process gets — laser cutting includes SVG and DXF.
- 5
Review the layers
Open the Layers step. You should see CUT_OUTER and ENGRAVE_VECTOR — the names your laser software will show.
- 6
See the package
Open the Files step. It lists every file in the package, including the instructions and cutting checklist, and the price.
Final result
Compiled by the same engine as the studio: 1 part on 1 sheet. Red is cut, black is engraved.
